Turlough House

The National Museum of Ireland – Country Life is located in Turlough village, 8 km northeast of Castlebar, County Mayo, Ireland. Established in 2001, the museum is part of the National Museum of Ireland and is the only national museum outside Dublin.

Foxford Woolen Mills

Established in 1892, Foxford Woollen Mills is renowned for its beautifully crafted textiles, from luxurious throws to fine bed linen. More than just a store, Foxford Woollen Mills Visitor Centre and Store provides an experience of a free 20 minute tour of the historic mill, bringing its rich heritage to life.

Ceide Fields Visitor Centre

The Céide Fields is an archaeological site on the north County. The site has been described as the most extensive Neolithic site in Ireland and is claimed to contain the oldest known field systems globally, located under a blanket bog in North Mayo. The site reveals over 5,000 years of history, including organized farm fields, megalithic tombs, and dwelling areas. The Céide Fields are now a protected Special Area of Conservation and feature a visitor centre where you can learn about the landscape and archaeology
